In every Karaoke session, it’s almost impossible not to pass up Stephen Speak‘s hit single “Passenger Seat“. Since it was released 17 years ago, the love song has made us feel all kinds of things—and struck down with a bad case of the Last Song Syndrome (L.S.S.). And if you haven’t heard the news yet, hundreds of Filipino passengers were lucky enough to have heard it live during a flight with Cebu Pacific Airlines.
A collaboration with JB Music Philippines, Rockwell Ryan Ripperger of Stephen Speaks surprised unsuspecting passengers with a short yet perfect performance of “Passenger Seat”. Using only his guitar, the American singer sang mid-flight for the first time in his life.
He was quoted as saying:
“I’m trying to sing as loud as I can so you can hear at the back. This is the first time I’ve ever sung in a plane.”
It was Jerico Salonga Fernando, the Chief Operating Officer of JB Music Philippines, who put up the exclusive performance on his Facebook account. As of writing, the post has garnered over 1.2 million views from the netizens.
