We’ve all seen it in movies: rich families contending for wealth and power. In reality, such a scenario may seem too far-fetched, and impossible, even. But a 22-year-old son from Sochi, Russia proved how frighteningly close the real world is to fiction after he was reportedly arrested for plotting murder to his own rich parents.
Elite Readers reported two days ago, February 23, that the son initially hired a hitman to accomplish his plan. It would appear that his mom and dad possess considerable wealth, and he wanted to save himself time waiting to be an heir.
Everything was going according to plan: from informing the hired killer where his mom and dad would be killed to where the cameras and guard dogs could be spotted inside their house.
That is, until he commissioned the wrong hitman—and crossed his clever parents.
Apparently, the hitman—supposed to be paid £38,000 (or nearly three million in Philippine Pesos)—was actually an undercover police officer! Knowing about the plan, he immediately gave a heads up to the rich parents. In the end, they all agreed that the mom and dad would play dead so they could capture the son.
And so they did. The fake hitman met with the son to show photos of what appeared to be his dead parents, proving that the plan was carried out successfully. This, of course, didn’t fail to make him happy, but his delight would turn out to be short-lived.
Moments later, cops came in to arrest him.
Further investigation by the Krasnodar region officers said that this wasn’t the first instance that the son plotted the murder of his own parents.
“Before looking for a killer, he tried to get his relatives twice. He [was] looking on the Internet to find out how [he would] carry out the murders. The.criminal wanted to put pills in the kettle to poison his parents, but his father found out [that] something was wrong. Then, the son planned to break a thermometer in his parents’ car so that they were poisoned with mercury vapors. But, he got cold feet.”
Upon learning of the unbelievable news, dozens of netizens were quick to give their thoughts on social media. Check out some of the comments:
